Can't be soon enough!

Can't be soon enough
(by R.P.Edwards)

Can't be
Can't be
Soon enough
To end the foolish reign
These who taunt
The founders God
Again
Again
Again
Wise in their eyes
The mirrors view
Ignoring steps and stones
They never cease
"Our" sin increase
And sneer
"What will HE do?"

In the news: the United States "abstains" from, rather than choosing to veto, a resolution by middle-eastern folk who simply hate Israel. It's a first.

The subject was settlements; but since I (and many) recognize Israel as far more than an ethnic aberration (i.e. there's a genuine "God" connection) AND, since they are truly a like-minded ally, "we" have, in the past, supported her in her efforts. Maybe not always agreed; but at least when it came to the useless UN, Israel could count on us. Until now.

I won't go on and on, but let me finish by saying, Thank God! that this current administration, which has NO fear of the Almighty, will soon be relegated to the annals of obscurity. It's one thing when individuals choose the early path of the prodigal, but when "leaders" (or leader) purposely guide the nation towards sin; this is unconscionable.

And, speaking for myself, this kind of moral depravity (taunting God; imagine!) was the main reason to NOT vote for someone in the same mold.

January 20th cannot come soon enough.

Cookies for Breakfast

Cookies for Breakfast
(by R.P.Edwards)

I was leaning towards pancakes
But cookies will do
Both loaded with sugar
But one has less goo
The consensus, indifference
So the griddle's passé
 Yes, it's cookies, so handy
For breakfast
Today

Years ago some of my children (along with a married-in gent) bought me one of those faux fireplaces that look so much nicer that their predecessors. This morning I was warming in front of the phony, yet fabulous, flames as a news show rambled on about the time-filling topics of the day.

First, the reason for the chill: I had recently returned from our local abortion clinic (much to say, but probably already said in the archives) and the nearly December air was quite nippy and, since I was at the clinic for a while, my thermal defenses had worn thin.

Anyway, on the way home "pancakes" arose from my food-desire place and, since "I'm" the major breakfast maker I offered it to the younguns upon arrival. The consensus? "Nah."  So, since holiday cookies were nearby (and I didn't want to go through the extra effort for merely myself), THEY became breakfast. I figured the sugar content had to be comparable.

As I was saying; the newsies were blathering about various topics and one that caught my thawing ear had to do with the effect of leftward academics upon the pliable minds of our youth. This is a real sore spot with me; these  morally questionable mucky mucks messing with our heritage. But...BUT, since I am learning that "words" can give life, or kill; I choose, rather than curse the abusers, to pray that they (especially the older institutions) return to their roots of Godliness.

That's about it. However, below is a link to a song I wrote sometime in the last decade. It's a Christmas offering. A bit on the sad side, but I think God is in it. I'll let you decide.

BTW, after a while I made myself (just myself!) a ham n cheese omelet. So there, kids!

Of Pork Chops and Politics

Trump's Time
(by R.P.Edwards)

Time for doing
Time for deeds
Time for fixing
Time for speed
Time for focus
Time to choose
Time for winning
No time to lose
Time to honor
Time to run
Time for healing
Time's begun
Time to finish
Time to start
Time for steel
And time for heart
Time's upon us
Time demands
Time for wisdom
Time for plans
Time's fulfilling
Time to jump
Time for changing
Time...for Trump

And so Mr. Trump has won.

On the evening of the victory, at the beginning thereof, I had a bit of anxiety. True, there had been spiritual inklings of his coming triumph (I know the secular among us scoff at such things; their loss), but a grim picture had been painted by the "knowing" class and "No, not again!" was--as I say, "early on"-- an unavoidable thought. By the end of the night, however; relief and thanksgiving. The progressive scourge had been blunted; at least for the moment.

And, since that time I have contemplated dropping a few words. Indeed, I was (and am still) amused at the excesses of the fallen (hear of the "primal scream"?); especially at the PC breeding grounds...the Universities. The unction, however, did not rise to the production point.

But now my mind is on pork chops; whether to cook on the stove, or brave the elements (as the temperature is quickly dropping) and fire up the grill. I lean towards the latter. And, as I stir in that direction I point the reader to the above youtube link. The talented lyricist (and Elvis fan) GHW, from Texas, put some encouraging words to the tune of "Here comes Santa Claus". I tried to do it justice. Enjoy.

BTW, if the Trump administration has a position for this creative duo; we're available.

Drain the swamp, Donald!

Of Swamps
(by R.P.Edwards)

Swamps are slick
Slimy too
Yucky, icky, gobs of goo
Snakes and gators
Bugs that bite
It's even worse
When there at night
But human swamps
Have deeper dirt
Lying, cheating, deeds that hurt
Morals moldy
Backbone gone
Pay for play
And on and on
So twixt the two
If a choice is made
I'll take the swamp
The everglade
For there the hurt
Is on the skin
But human swamps
Defile within

The election is near and my talented lyricist from Texas has seized on a phrase Donald Trump uttered a while ago as to Washington DC and its condition: "Drain the swamp."

So, the resulting video/song is above and, incredibly, since the initial declaration even MORE sleaze on the other side has come to light. Amazingly, many won't care.

But, my hope is, that if Mr Trump makes it (and I believe he will), perhaps the swamp will be drained at last.

By the way, I picked up a Trump yard sign today. Let's see how long it lasts.

The Battle Hymn of the Republic and Abortion

Same Evil
(by R.P.Edwards)

The same evil
That brought the whip
Is behind the Doctor's
Tear and rip
The same demons
Behind the chains
Are those that dine
On babies brains
The same evil
That fed the South
Now fills the leftist's
Mind and mouth
But NOT the same
Our dearest need
A Lincoln's rise
To speak and lead

This offering is written after the second presidential debate and after the lewd revelation of a decade past. Ho hum. As someone who has experienced four years in the navy and over 23 years in heavy industry, nasty talk does not dissuade me from my decision in this election.

Abortion, in the eyes of God, is murder. It was allowed as law, not due to the democratic process, but because 7 judges willed it so. Ms Clinton is VERY pro-abortion. Mr Trump...is not. It's where I begin, and he still has my vote.

As an aside: since evil exists in a realm not limited by fleshly decay, it is only reasonable to believe that evil entities perpetually influence where they are allowed. Abortion is one of these areas (C'mon, killing your own offspring?). And, since "dehumanizing" was essential to perpetuate American slavery, it is reasonable to assume that the same vile spirits that instructed towards that end are now, in our day, working the same tack.

Having said that, on occasion, at our local abortion clinic, I'll sing aloud a solo rendition of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" to go along with prayer and proclamations (NOT while women are heading towards the door; that's the time for gentle exhortation). Why? Because this is a war, dear reader. There is good. There is evil. And "Making America Great Again," must include the protection and cherishing of the most innocent and vulnerable among us.

The song: It contains my "solo" performance, plus some additional tracks to fill it out a bit.

Mike Pence, the real deal

Pence
(by R.P.Edwards)

Mike Pence
The real deal
Passionate facts
Not perfunctory spiel
A depth of doing
Of heart and hand
Showing the knowing
Making a stand

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
And before you were born I consecrated you;
I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
(Jeremiah 1:5 NASB)

When I heard it I took notice; it was a bell-ringer; a whistle to attention; a substantive salute. I'm referring to the above scripture that VP candidate, Mike Pence, mentioned in the debate with his Hillary counterpart, Tim Kaine.

You see, this particular verse is one of the Biblical backers that makes God's view on life in the womb known. In essence, the Almighty says to the prophet "I" made you in the womb; "I" recognized and consecrated you before you were born; "I" had your life already planned out for you.

For the believer who is actually concerned about the Lord's opinion in this area this is a rock to stand upon. The God of the Bible recognizes (and indeed "makes") the person in the womb. From here the Sixth commandment applies, "Thou shalt not murder."

Anyway, the mention of this verse caught my attention for it means the future VP has a depth of faith beyond the hopeful expressions of  "wordsmiths and handlers."  I only hope that other Christ followers dare delve deeper into the Word of God. If they do, their vacillating on the Life issue will come to an end.

Well done, Governor Pence.

Following is a little song that might help the Trump effort.

In memory of Pedro Gomez

Pedro Gomez 1956-1985

Not of Works
(by R.P.Edwards)

Working
Striving
See me shine
Pumping
Preening
All is mine
But Heaven's gate
Takes NONE of these
Just simple faith
On bended knees

28 Therefore they said to Him, “What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?” 29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.”
(John 6:28,29)

Yes, yes, it's been a long time since I clicked the keyboard and offered my simple analysis and insight.

I'd like to say I was on sabbatical; exploring and expanding my view of things. But no, I have been here, in my humble Midwestern digs, mulling about and NOT blogging.

Oh, with all the doings of the candidates (debate etc) I've had many a thought that, "Hey, I could write about that." But "those" thoughts lacked the strength and stamina to get me moving.

But this post, dear reader, IS weighty AND worthy. You see, in my office (of sorts) there is a book shelf which contains the odds and ends of a life somewhat disorganized. Among the clutter are two year books from a Christian college I attended in the eighties. Perhaps I'll speak more of it sometime, but since the Lord has allowed me some musical talent, I was asked (in 1985) upon the tragic death of a fellow student, to come up with something for a memorial gathering. The song, "Jesus, He is my only claim," is the result.

His name was Pedro Gomez, 29, and his desire was to lead others to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ; the Savior he had accepted just three years prior. I didn't "know" Pedro very well (I, a married type in married housing, and he, not) but we were, and ARE, brothers. And although his cut-short existence didn't allow for a longer re'sume', it turns out only "one" item is needed.

Anyway, I had the mindset to YouTube (ize) some old songs. This one came to mind; as did the yearbook; as did Pedro. I think God is in it.

God bless you as you listen.  Jesus, He is my only claim

One people, One God, One American flag

WE Choose
(by R.P.Edwards)

Academics
With godless views
Cultured barbarians
Bring the news
Entertainers
With pagan speech
ALL above
They love to teach
School the dullards
Me and You
Rework the founding
Reshape the true
But THESE are phantoms
Of vapor's length
But WE THE PEOPLE
Choose God
And strength

"We will be one people, under one God, saluting one American flag"
(Donald J. Trump, Sept 7, 2016)

I forget the "title" of the address: Foreign policy, military musings...not sure. But Mr. Trump laid out, yet again, a comprehensive plan as to his leanings in the event of his presidency being confirmed.

I liked it.

You know, it's so darn refreshing to have someone who doesn't acquiescence to the godless elite in our land: The PCers; the arrogant academics and their spawn. And, Mr Trump is that someone. Not used to fawning and faking; he tells it like it is. And, how "it is" is dire.

Concerning the quote: It was an "in your face" utterance that I appreciate much. YES, we ARE one people. YES, we recognize one God (check out Washington's Bible for a clue), AND YES, when we become Americans we leave our old flag behind.

Good job, Mr Trump. Keep it coming.

America, Great again

What we can
(by R.P.Edwards)

Some do this
Some do that
Some give thin
Some give fat
Some are cool
Others hot
Some will run
Others trot
Some consumed
Others taste
Some choose steady
Others haste
But ALL believers
Woman
Man
We ALL contribute
What we can

Made a pro-Trump video (above, click link below photo). It's something I can do. No, not Hollywood, but not bad for a steelworker.

I've written about the Donald before; my transition. No, he hasn't passed the "perfect" test, but I believe he'll do more to the good than the alternative.

So, I support him. Without apology. And, of course, I'll be praying for the election and Mr Trump in particular (although offerings on behalf of HC are also in order [a Christian thing]).

And, I hope my little song encourages.

The Naysayers

The Naysayers
(by R.P.Edwards)

Just like clockwork
They raise their voice
Disrupting drones
Attacking choice
They invade the rally
And yell their "few"
But ignoring "them"
Is what we do
And I wonder why
They act that way
No doubt, for many
They're there for pay
But their annoying push
Their master "plan"
Just builds resolve
To elect "the man."

I caught the tail end of Donald Trump's economic speech in Detroit. Flipped through the channels, and there it was. "Man, I wanted to see that," says I. "Oh well, I can always catch it on YouTube after a while."

"It's probably there now," says my savvy 15 year old who was computer occupied.

And so it was.

Now, as a laid off Union Steelworker this pro-America communication was indeed welcome. But, it was not all "Ahh" and "Amen" in the audience. No, there was a smattering of discontent interspersed among the faithful and I suspect these were not passionate singles; but rather compensated drones. "Go there. Do this. Say that."

And I wonder; what do they wish to accomplish? For, dear reader, instead of driving me away from the Donald; their anarchist antics...push me towards.

BTW, please notice the new novel on the right sidebar (SIR JOHN & THE QUEST OF PROVING). A Christian/fantasy/Allegory: Check it out!

The Art of the Spiel

Lies Perfected
(by R.P.Edwards)

Practice makes perfect
It's true here as well
To speak like an angel
Though the lie is from hell

I DIDN'T want to watch it--I usually fast forward, or mute, or pause and then scoot past--but I thought it might be helpful, informative. So, after a little internal debate, I went to "start over" and did so. Truthfully, my gut was a bit perturbed at the initial intake but, over time, I grew to admire the skillful manipulation of the language. Truly a professional.

I write, of course, of a recent interview involving a certain Presidential nominee who is NOT Donald Trump.

But, I'll not pile on the former Secretary of State, other than to say that Mr Trump could learn a thing or two from the pearl merchant. So careful. So crafty. So cool under fire. Yes, the Billionaire who is used to speaking his mind (and we love him for it!) he would be wise to observe the opposition and incorporate just a hint of her expertise. Except, of course, we need truth.

Not so Smart

Not so smart
(by R.P.Edwards)

"College Educated"
What a joke!
Mentally smart
But morally broke
The many "know betters"
Proclaiming what ought
But the future will reap
What their "ignorance" wrought

Sorry, but it gets in my craw.

For some reason I tune in to a political discussion (I know the reason: I like this kind of stuff) and inevitably, somewhere along line, some talking head will mention the "college educated;" implying that those who "aren't"...ain't too smart.

And then I think of the courts, and the media, and of politicians; so many of whom openly display their America-destroying apostasy...but they're just too "ignorant" to understand their condition.

And so...the nation is in the dire state that it is.

And, dear reader, since so many of the "college educated" have had their hand on the tiller for so long; how about we let the not so brilliant steer the boat for a while? They may not be polished, or refined, or "oh, so full of themselves;" but they may very well turn this ship of state away from the dangerous reefs that are dead ahead.

"Excuse me, sir."

"Yes, Sailor, John Q. Public?"

"Allow me to take the helm, sir."

"On whose authority?"

"On the authority of the people of the United States."

Empty Words

DNC 2016
(by R.P.Edwards

After 7 years
Of deeds and do's
We don't need words
To know what's true
We've SEEN the actions
We KNOW the ways
And empty words
Will never sway
But there are those
Who deal in air
They LOVE the verses
With nothing there
They cheer for empty!
They weep for fluff!
But America, sir
We've had enough

Haven't listened to the DNC speeches. Don't care.

Oh, I've heard from second sources how WONDERFUL the speeches have been: VP Biden, President Obama, ect. and et al.

But...but...at this point; I don't honestly care.

You see, back in the beginning; back in 2008, WORDS were possibilities. They didn't necessarily have substance; but they did contain...hope. But NOW...we know what has been done. And the DONE...far outweighs the words.

So, whether the President speaks, or others in the same camp speak; at this point--since there is a history--they mean nothing. UNLESS...you're in the media. Oh, they love words! It is their reality; their food and drink; their very life! But some words, ma'am and sir, are none of these. AND, after over seven years of deeds; the new words...mean nothing.

HIS TRUTH IS MARCHING ON!

Judgment Coming
(by R.P.Edwards)

We should be careful
How we ascribe
To deity
OUR way
Words are recorded
Records kept
And then comes
Judgment Day

There's a large abortion clinic nearby (I mention it often). From time to time there is a fellow I know who will stand on the sidewalk (usually when the clinic is NOT open) and sing. He's usually not there very long, but for a few minutes he'll sing a few Christian songs and almost always include in the mix, The Battle Hymn of the Republic (you know, MINE EYES HAVE SEEN THE GLORY...).

If queried about Lincoln's favorite song he'll say something like, "The evil that was behind slavery, is the same evil that is behind abortion."

"How so?"

"Because American Slave holders said that those of African descent were to be considered as less than human; things. AND, in the same way babies in the womb are considered as less than human; things to be disposed of. So, the song is appropriate; for the same evil is in play."

Logical.

Enter the beginning of the Democratic National Convention. Before the first gavel a talented choir from an AME church (African Methodist Episcopal) sang three verses from said hymn. They did a fine job but, I must admit, I was taken aback. For, you see, the democratic party is the party of abortion. Hillary Clinton, in fact, champions it.

So, I am now in "guess land." Did the fine Christian folk (for I assume they all love the Savior) not realize God's view of the affront (abortion)? Are they among those who think the deity is indifferent to the plight of the innocent?

I must admit, I sometimes puzzle at how so many of those who love the Redeemer can be so terribly mistaken in this one judgment-worthy area. But, I'll not question their sincerity or motivation. But I will add my opinion as to the placement of the song: I think it is nothing less than a prophetic proclamation aimed at the party of infanticide and, by extension, to the universal WE who do so little on behalf of the "least of these."

MINE EYES HAVE SEEN THE GLORY OF THE COMING OF THE LORD
HE IS TRAMPLING OUT THE VINTAGE WHERE THE GRAPES OF WRATH ARE STORED
HE HATH LOOSED THE FATEFUL LIGHTENING OF HIS TERRIBLE SWIFT SWORD
HIS TRUTH IS MARCHING ON

Hillary, Don't take Unions for granted

Union awakening
(by R.P.Edwards)

They think we're stupid
Mindless drones
Automatons
Someone they "own"
But we have minds
And hearts
And will
And of their ways
We've had our fill

It's called a "Labor Temple;" (the photo above) and those milling about at the base are steelworkers from the nearby facility that is running far below capacity due to foreign entities who "cheat" and flood our markets with cheap steel. As a result many companies cannot compete and must (once again; for this has happened before) close their doors or greatly reduce their workforce.

This morning's gathering (of which I took part) was due to the hopeful proposition by some government representatives that perhaps Unemployment Benefits might be extended a little longer if the myriad of barriers (as to procedure) could be quickly hurdled, and if the governor (who is desperately trying to rein in the budget) would be so inclined as to say "yes."

Unions. I've mentioned them before (here's one: How Unions can Save America) and, as I take in the doings of the Republican National Convention--as well as the endless peripheries which surround it--I've been hearing much of Hillary's strength with Unions.

Balderdash!

You see, we Union folk are a diverse bunch; and just because our national leadership appears to be joined at the hip with the Democratic party; many of us...are not.

So, when the Clinton core (the media) point out that the prospective Republican VP, Gov Mike Pence, has inclinations towards "Right to Work," and "this" would therefore alienate many of us low-educated blue collar workers...well, they err greatly.

For, at this crucial juncture in our nation's history many of the WE are more interested in our country's survival, FIRST, and then comes the common sense solutions that will bring about prosperity. AND, without question, the candidate, at this time, and with God's help, that has the answers to our perennial, poisonous governmental problems...is Donald J. Trump.

Yes, whether it be the handling of ISIS, the strengthening of the military, the fair reworking of trade deals, the reduction of taxes and constricting regulations; support for domestic energy producers, unabashedly backing law enforcement and YES, the building of a wall; the Union man or woman's capacity to understand our "problems" and act accordingly are not limited to the media's (and perhaps the leadership's) low expectations.

To conclude: What I'm saying is: I'm sure there are many of my Union brothers and sisters who will select the predictable "D" this November; but dear reader, there are many, MANY, in THIS election...who will not.

Foundational

Forgetful
(by R.P.Edwards)

Those before
They mixed and poured
And built upon
The base
But children rise
Parents despise
And leave to theirs
Disgrace

And so, this day, the Republican hopefuls (voters, that is) are (the ones who didn't do that "in advance thing") going to the polls in Indiana to help get their "guy" closer to the GOP Nominee position.

I, a Union Steelworker (currently laid off), should, theoretically (I suppose) be more interested in the exaltation of the Democratic candidate; Ms Clinton. Why? Well, because, as everyone knows WE union folk are solidly in the Democratic camp.

TO HELL WITH THAT!

Understand, as I see it the democratic party is the party of infanticide. And, since I'm a CHRISTIAN (in more than name) I want God's (you know, the Deity mentioned on our money and in the Declaration of Independence) blessing on this republic, AND since only republicans (some shallowly so, alas) seem to understand that murder is wrong I, and many like me, will throw our Union's recommendation to the circular file.

So, Indiana. I'm rooting for Trump. For me he meets the minimum requirement on the moral issues (I'm NOT voting for Pastor) and, frankly, he seems to understand that jobs and security are more important than which bathroom to pee in.

A final thought: Isn't it a shame that the Democratic party has been taken over by the PC priests and pastors and panhandlers? Years ago both parties had a grasp on the basic wrong and right stuff. No more. And wouldn't it be nice if Unions, for once (see previous post) stood up to the heretics who have hijacked Jefferson's offspring.

The Picture: Used a few weeks ago (for Easter ) this is a slab that was once the foundation to one of the many shot-gun type dwellings that surrounded the Steel Mill (in the background). Yes, the Mill is the very same one where my paychecks have come from (for the last two decades). It has been running on fumes lately and I felt a "walk-around" was needed. So, I put on my walking shoes and circled the facility. Took approximately 45 minutes. Walking and praying. And, when I saw the slab, it made me think of how "We the People" (for a variety of reasons) need to get back to basics. We need to locate the foundation of our ancestors... and build upon it.

How Unions can save America

Union
(By R.P.Edwards)

I was beaten down, mute, and weak
Then a brother came to help me speak
A sister gave a lifting hand
Then others joined, to help me stand
At last the oppressor made his run
To finish the job he had begun
He thought only "I" would field his blows
But instead, he found a Union...
Standing toe to toe

The above poem was resurrected from a computer hideaway (nearly forgotten). It was originally attached to a fledgling blog and posted seven years ago, this very month. AND, due to my state of employment at the time (laid off Steel Worker), I gave the title, The Layoff Letters, to this humble web-publication that was birthed during that period. Ironically, I find myself laid-off once again.

Unions: everyone believes in the concept. Simply: it is the many who are weak individually; who then join together to oppose the strong. The original Thirteen Colonies were a union. Your neighborhood watch is a union. And, of course, when greed rules over compassion in corporate America; labor unions are a solution.

But how can Unions save the nation? By using their "together" might to actually stand for the values and God-mindedness that led to a nation blessed.

You know, sixty years ago an essay like this would be unnecessary. Aside from variances of what to do with the people's money (and some other policy differences), the two parties understood that human life had value, and that God was not a liar when it came to human sexuality. But, since then (well before, actually) the godless oozings of academia have preached another gospel; a gospel that has stripped the great benefactor from our schools and government institutions; that has codified murder and immorality; that seeks to have us ever bow to the worm and the whim. AND, since the Democratic party is married to this madness, AND since the Unions are married to the Democratic Party...the nation totters.

Solution: Unions; remember when good and evil had parameters, and choose the good again. Unions: when those who would woo you ask you to put your hand in the abortionist's glove; refuse. Yes, refuse for the good of America, and stand for those who have no voice. Unions; when those who would use you to further THEIR agenda ask you to denounce the institution ordained by God; refuse. Yes, refuse for the good of America, and then stand and defend that timeless pairing that has so long been the mortar to our body politic. And, my brothers and sisters, when the misrepresenters parade their vast contingent of false reverends and celebrity mouthpieces to garner your support; refuse. Yes, refuse for the good of America; and send their gross errors to the wind as you (we) hold fast to and protect the stone that is our sure foundation.

And now we come to the WHAT IF. What if, in 1973, when the black-robed usurpers sentenced the multiplied millions to death; what if the UNIONS had stood against them? What if, when the twisted heirs of the same court contemplated spitting in the deity's eye concerning human relations; what if, for the good of America, the Unions had stood against them? And now, what if the Unions--despite the pleas of their present handlers--decided to raise their (our) voices against the PC madness that is gripping and gutting our culture? What if, for the good of America, they did that? Well, America would be saved. And, having done that we could then concentrate on the lesser issues.

Donald Trump and the Unborn

The Worthy
(by R.P.Edwards)

Some are worthy
Some above
Some we lavish
value, love
In our hands
And in our eyes
This other "us"
We'll not despise
But those unseen
Beyond our care
Their value dwindles
Until not there
And so their passing
We ignore
For we're for "us"
And no one more

"Bring me the chart, bailiff."

"Yes, sir."

"If I may ask; what chart is that, your honor?" The defense attorney (a bit old school, and out of practice) asked as the officer brought back an expandable, hinged chart that, when turned perpendicular (as in, "up and down") gave a particular worth to each phase of human growth, or decay.

"Come here, counselor. I know its been a while, so I'd like you to see our New and Improved sentencing guidelines." The advocate slowly walked around the bench and, putting on his high-powered, wire-rimmed reading glasses, he scanned the chart.

"There, you see?" said the gray-bearded jurist. "Your client has been found guilty of voluntary manslaughter, AND, since the deceased was in her eighties, her life value..was little. Therefore, although the crime was egregious; the sentence is (the two locked eyes) two years probation."

"I seeee," said the barrister; straightening his stance and scratching his right temple slowly. "And if she had been in her prime?"

"Ten years."

"And if she had been in the womb?"

"Not recognized. No penalty."

In the news; Donald Trump fell into the media trap and said that if abortion is outlawed and a woman is caught having one performed; she should therefore be punished in some way. After all (his reasoning might have been) killing a baby is...a crime.

Well, the media and everyone on either side of the issue was aghast! How dare he make such an assertion! The woman is clearly the victim here and should NEVER be held accountable. Tell that, dear reader, to the murdered child; and the God who created him/her.

Okay (stepping back), yeah, I can be sympathetic. But, at the end of the day a human being (albeit small) is destroyed. AND, dear reader, that individual has just as much right to live as you or I or ANY other person that we recognize as such. Donald may not have been PC enough (he's walked his statement back), but at least for a moment...he gave worth to the innocents being slaughtered daily.

As an aside: On this Saturday morn I went down to the local abortion clinic (pictures above). Some "clients" may have been travailing in their decision (I didn't see it) but most brazenly walked in to assert their legal "right." And, the result always is...a dead baby. Heaven help us.
