The face of Israel

Must do’s
(by R.P.Edwards)

Wipe your shoes off
On the mat
Brush your teeth
And pet the cat
Pick your clothes up
Tidy be
Daughter, son
Now heed my plea
Look both ways
On a busy street
Take only as much
As you can eat
With lips together
Chew your food
Daughter, son
Now, don’t be rude
Say “please,” and “thank you”
Stay in school
Live your lives
By the Golden Rule
And there’s one more thing
To aid your way
As you do your deeds
As you kneel to pray
Always, always
Daughter, son
Always, always
Never done
Always, always
Always, always
Always, always
Always, always
Always, always
Always, always
ALWAYS!
Support Israel

Now the LORD said to Abram, Go forth from your country,
And from your relatives, And from your father’s house,
To the land which I will show you; And I will make you a great nation,
And I will bless you, And make your name great;
And so you shall be a blessing; And I will bless those who bless you,
And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.  (Genesis 12:1-3)

Saw the PM of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, address a joint session of Congress a couple days back.  I like this guy.  He’s got the garb of a statesman, but the heart and substance and resume of a warrior.  I liked the message.  Here’s a few excerpts:

“Israel is not what is wrong about the middle east.  Israel is what is right about the middle east.”

“In Judea and Samaria the Jewish people are not foreign occupiers.”

“No distortion of Israel can deny the four thousand year old bond between the Jewish people and the Jewish land.”

Anyway, here’s a c-span link: Address to Congress

For the fun of it I looked to see if perhaps Mr. Netanyahu had been born in the U.S. (in fact he’s the first Israeli PM actually born in Israel).  I figured, since the conservative field for president is in flux, maybe, if he had dual citizenship…he could run.  Nope.
