Children beheaded in America

So easy
(by R.P.Edwards)

Unloved
Unrecognized
Slaughtered
At will
Children
As burdens
So easy
To kill

Beheaded. Yes, a loaded word; conveying images of middle-eastern fanatics doing the bidding of their god against infidels.

We've seen it on the news and ad naseum on the cable channels. Evil ISIS, living out their twisted faith.

And, among the victims...little children. That really gets us. Sure, bad enough the adults get offed; but kids?

Well, this very morning I went down to the HUGE abortion facility in Granite City, IL and there, dear reader, beheadings were the order of the day. The difference here, OUR secular religion finds no offense.

It was unusually busy today and I suppose the holiday season is the reason. Pregnancies can be so inconvenient. The abortionist himself (usually in no rush) even he showed up early to attend to the overflow. AND, on the sidewalk, there were a few believers trying to dissuade; including one young lady who had been through the abortion process and warned of the consequences.

I'll not ramble on. But consider: in this one abortion clinic alone more Americans have died a violent death than expired in World War I, Korea, Vietnam and the recent mid-east happenings...COMBINED! In this one clinic.  And yet we're appalled at the barbarity of a few Muslims.  I think we need our "appaller" fixed.

Anyway, if my headline got you here; sorry...but not really. For, you see, it's time for us to rethink who we are as a people. Are we going to go the way of ISIS and continue in our selective barbarity? Or are we going to be truly civilized; recognizing the worth of EVERY individual, even those who are inconvenient.

Josef Mengele, Planned Parenthood, and the Court

 Tools and Fools
(by R.P.Edwards)

We're so dainty
We're so nice
Crafting words
With sugar and spice
But the court's been evil
Satan's tool
And WE do NOTHING!
Oh, what FOOLS!

I go down to the local abortion clinic. I stand. I walk around it. I pray. On occasion I say something benign like, "Can we help you?" or "Jesus loves you, and he loves your baby." Usually I say nothing. There are others who are better at it.

Women go in. Some are abrasive, cold, arrogant. Others are unsure, conflicted, at the point of tears. They are always accompanied by someone (no solos allowed). Sometimes its a lady pal, or a "kill it" boy friend or husband or pimp. They go in; they come out. They go in; they come out. Week after week after week after week. A few babies survive. Most don't. Tens; hundreds; thousands; hundreds of thousands; all at this one clinic over forty years.

And so, now our attention is drawn to Planned Parenthood. Although they've been killing babies for years and years, they are now thought less of because they actually "sell" the body parts of the deceased. It is to laugh. We tolerate the murder, but are disturbed by the disposal. What fools we are.

Anyway, with the "revelation" I was, at first, going to go the route of Josef Mengele. For those less versed, he was a creepo Nazi physician who dispassionately worked his twisted, torturous will on captive Jews during World War II. He liked to experiment on them; horrible inhumane treatment that often led to a painful death. Yeah, I thought, I could parallel his actions with those of the modern Planned Parenthood docs.

But then, I was thinking...since we of the Christian mindset know that humankind comes with a fallen nature; a nature that must either be constrained from within (a redeemed heart) or without (laws), it only stands to reason that when "laws" are lessened or removed; evil will increase. The Nazis dehumanized the Jews and this led to their wholesale slaughter. In the same way, and with the same inspiration, our Supreme Court has dehumanized the pre-born and their subsequent mass-murder was/is a natural progression.

I can almost feel the uneasiness; the cringing and shoulder slumps as I paint the respected jurists (not all) with the label of "evil doers." But...that's what they are. Yes, in the same way as when the Taney Court sided with Satan (more cringing here) our modern, Ivy League educated elite are also willing tools. However, one thing the Dred Scott deciders had on their side is that the abomination of slavery had been grandfathered into the Republic. Infanticide (abortion), on the other hand, was NEVER widely accepted. It is the court's omnipotent, unconstitutional usurpation.

The conclusion: I believe future generations (if there are any) will look at our modern court with the same disdain that we now view the Taney bunch of Lincoln's day. However, our unaborted offspring (again, if there are any) will little understand why we, the people, did so little to restrain the madness of the black robed kings. They, from their vantage, will recall the "God is not mocked" judgment that came. We, however, are on the verge of its horrible revelation.

It's Coming
(by R.P.Edwards)

One says murder
Another says choice
But the victims here
They have no voice
But God takes note
And hears their cry
And when grace is spent
Then WE...will die

Bill O'Reilly...wise up.

Potential?
(by R.P.Edwards)

“Potential Human Life”
The antiseptic phrase
Used by careful cowards
Fearful of…the day
Not unlike the era
When “potential” dealt…with skin
And the gentle spoke misgivings
While the heavens cried out…  “SIN!”

“I’m absolutely, factually correct when I say a fetus is a potential human being; and no one can deny that.  I respect your opinion, but until you become a Supreme Court justice, Hugh, it remains your opinion; your belief.  I can’t run this program based on my religious beliefs, so I try to put up arguments based on facts. And I believe we are successful in doing that.”

The above is Bill O’Reilly’s answer to the following question: “A fetus is a human being with potential, not a potential human being! As a Roman Catholic, why do you keep getting it wrong, Bill?”  (submitted by viewer, Hugh Garber)

Short and sweet.  Listen, I’m a Bill O’Reilly fan.  He’s the regular guy who made good.  The rough, no nonsense interviewer known for piercing questions and opinions that don’t back down.  A champion of the “folks,” and, who can forget how he led the charge to have “Jessica’s Law” (legislation to greatly increase the penalties levied against sex offenders who prey on children) put on the books of many states.  But, when it comes to abortion, Bill has become…something less.

A couple things: The “Culture Warrior” segment, where Bill converses with a couple of well spoken ladies (Margaret Hoover and Gretchen Carlson) about the issues of the day; when it comes to abortion, this hot-button topic becomes…tame, tepid, colorless.  Indeed, the term “baby” is forboden.  And, this “opinion” show suddenly becomes almost nauseatingly…neutral.

Understand, I’m all for hearing both sides.  But when it comes to abortion the “Factor” is stuck in middle-left.  Question: where is the abolitionist on the panel?  Where is the champion for the innocent? Where is someone like Alan Keyes who can eloquently speak for those who cannot speak for themselves?  And Bill, really, equating Supreme Court speak with fact? How about the justices on the Taney Court?  You know, the wise ones who equated black skin…with property? Surely if this was 1859 you wouldn’t use the “until you become a Supreme Court justice” line.

Conclusion:  Bill, you’ve got a great platform.  A ponderous pulpit.  We’ve seen how your passion on a subject can direct your stories, your words, your invitations.  We’ve seen how you can move the nation; influence the “discussion,” indeed, in some ways…change the culture.  I have to conclude that perhaps when it comes to life in the womb; you’re unconvinced.  And sure, you don’t want the show to be all about your “opinion,“ but, as you’ve said before, it’s not a “news” broadcast.  “Opinion” is given and asked for…all the time.  So, for whatever reason, in this area, the "Factor"...fails. And, although you may be wavering, there are millions and millions of us in your audience who believe that the birth canal is not the determiner of personhood. And…we “regular folk” would like a representative on your show to say it.

Will the real witch please stand up!

Look who’s Talking
(by R.P.Edwards)

Snobs
And nabobs
Putting on airs
Whining from windows
But really…who cares?
They’ve shown themselves shallow
With words…without weight
Aspersions, diversions
Purveyors of hate

Christine O’Donnell, currently in the hunt for Delaware’s Senate seat, has some rather embarrassing (I guess) footage from a 1999 appearance on Bill Maher’s, Politically Incorrect, that has recently surfaced.  Apparently the Republican contender admitted to some dabbling in witchcraft when she was a teenager.  And…I’m supposed to think less of her for this?

And my question is: Is that it?  And the follow up:  Is that the best you can do?  You see…I get it.  I understand that people on the left (and some on the right) are quite upset by these upstart tea party types who are infringing on “their” turf.  So, naturally, they want to smear her, demean her, lessen her.  And, when a juicy clip like this comes to light…well, that’s front page stuff!

But here’s the problem.  While Ms O’Donnell may have some dopey teenage actions to explain away (“Dopey Teenager” is enough of an explanation for me), the left have forgotten their own dirty dealings with the devil.  For it is these; these polished, cultured, educated sophisticates; it is these who have no problem supporting the murder of children in the womb.  You see, back in the "old days" any witch worth her satanic salt would slink into the corner and sacrifice the tiny innocents to their dark lord.  But today it's out in the open!  Infanticide is a right! And, when someone dare come along who has, as part of their resume, an opposition to the grisly practice, well, they're just extreme!  O dear, that was a bit distasteful, wasn’t it?  I mean, me pointing out such gross, shameless hypocrisy. Well…perhaps it’s time for some of that.  Perhaps it's time for some crude, coarse, unvarnished truth.  And, if enough people pay attention; if enough people begin to realize the bilge we've been buying all these years, then maybe, just maybe we can repair this American raft before it sinks...due to rot.

Abortion is...

Abortion is…
(by R.P.Edwards)

‘Abortion’ is an abstract
A distant, sterile place
 Until you hold a baby
And look into his face
And realize ‘abortion’
Murders such as these
And then the word…has meaning
And drives you…to your knees

It was an unintended crossing of paths.  A veering, a detour, and, if you will…a destiny.  You see, in my humdrum existence I was required by my job “superiors” to attend, this day, a certain function; a function that took me away from my regular work area.  Anyway, having satisfied the requirement I prepared my ancient 10-speed for flight and, alas…I had a flat.  Well, since the cavalry was only a short drive away, I called, requested a lift, and added… “Meet me in front of the abortion clinic.”

Imagine this:  Imagine a facility that has killed more Americans than died in World War I, Korea,Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan…combined.  Imagine a place; a place nestled in a State (the Land of Lincoln, no less) that, by its loose and uncaring legislation says “Come; come and kill,” and, as a result…they do.  From hundreds of miles away they come; by the tens of thousands, they come.  And this, this facility, falsely named “Hope” welcomes them; welcomes their money to relieve these “parents” of their children that have so inconvenienced them…by living.

Anyway, I walked the short distance to the slaughterhouse and there, as they have been for so many years, were the intercessors, the go-betweens, the “last chance,” the compassionate, the vilified, the demonized…the “Jesus” on the sidewalk:  Angela and Daniel Michael.  Consider, this couple and their family (with the sporadic aid of others) have, year after year after year, stood and pleaded for the lives of the innocent, and offered aid to the troubled women who have been driven to the point of infanticide.  Consider, often suffering vile attacks by word and deed; assaulted, assailed, maligned, slandered, sued, and yet they continue to stand…and plead…and give.  Consider, although blessed with eleven children of their own, they opened their home, yet again, for one more; for a baby unwanted by her mother.  And, what was the message I received in the brief time we had to share a word or two?  Simply this, that a mother of “twins,” this day, would not have them killed. Yes, because “Jesus” was on the sidewalk, this day, she would let them…live.

And so, my little flat tire, my little “inconvenience” caused me to veer into a meeting that would have not happened otherwise.  And, though my passion on the subject had somewhat cooled, it has been nudged, dusted off, brought back into view.  Yes, “abortion” is not just a word…just as “slavery” was not just a word.  It is an act, a vile abomination that has gained the full attention of heaven.  And, dear reader, if we wish to do our nation well, we dare not ignore it.  We dare not…ignore “them.”

Please go the Michael’s website:  Small Victories   There you can see in the light of day, what is too often in shadows.  And, having seen…allow yourself…to be moved.

That’s what I think.  How about you?  Click comments below…and say.

Life, Prorated

In His Image

(by R.P.Edwards)

Unique
In His image…am I
Crafted by His hand
A destiny for only me
A solitary plan
So when others say
I have no place
No fitting for their path
They forget the one
Who gave them breath
They forget that He has…wrath

As this is another Sunday posting, I thought it appropriate to continue in the same vein as last week. As you may recall, that offering pointed out how scripture reveals (without much digging) that God views human life in the womb, as just that…human life. I can’t help it if some religious institutions, through some sort of convoluted reasoning, come up with something different. The scripture is clear enough.

Well, the next obvious step is to find God’s view of human life unjustly terminated. What immediately comes to mind is the sixth commandment: Thou shalt not Kill. Or, more accurately, substitute “murder” for “kill.” You can find the list in Exodus twenty and some other places. However, while preparing for this article (briefly) I ran across an interesting verse from Genesis, “Whoever shed’s man’s blood, by man his blood shall be shed, for in the image of God He made man.” (9:6) Now, I suppose you could use this as justification for capital punishment, but my interest at this time is more to God’s view of His creation. We are made in His “image.” We are special, unique, purposed. And this, dear reader, includes the life in the womb.

Without a doubt, one of the largest stumbling blocks in the abortion debate is our conception of worth. For so long we’ve been told that a baby, one day before birth, is different than a child, one day after, that we start to believe it. We ascribe value to trimesters and terms. Days and months build the baby. However, if we were to use the same reasoning “after” birth (I.e, an infant is less valuable than a toddler, toddler is less than a teen, teen, less than an adult, but greater than senior, etc) we’d be called some sort of heartless fiends. But, don’t you see, when it comes to the human life in the womb…that’s exactly what we do?

To conclude: This blurb is aimed, mainly, at those who profess to trust Jesus as their Savior and believe the Bible is true. I really want all of us, who start at the foundation of the cross, to get on the same page when it comes to this very important subject. I honestly believe that with the fate of the innocent in the womb…so goes the nation. More on that…later.

Why Pro-Life?

The Pilot
(by R.P.Edwards)

Apostasy is all the rage
When Truth is at the wheel
But let the rebels take control
And reefs…will kiss the keel

Normally I don’t post on Sunday. But, since I’m up exceptionally early due to that “job” thing, perhaps a somewhat “religious” offering is in order.

Some background: Like many, I can be categorized as a “Christian.” Under this broad heading you’ll find me further defined as “born again,” and further, “Bible Believing.” Basically this means that I, having recognized my lost condition (and my inability to “work my way” out of it) cast myself upon the mercy of God, accepted the one who died for my sin (Jesus), and made a commitment to Him (sort of like the “I do” in a marriage arrangement. I.e. A serious thing). And, since I believe God is well able, I believe He figured out how to preserve His word on the pages (the Bible).

Now, having said all that, you can understand how this “relationship” colors my views. Just as my marriage to my wife effects --even when I can’t see her--my actions; even so my “commitment” to my Savior finds its way into my opinion. In other words; this God reality…trumps.

If you’ve been following my writings at all, you’ve probably figured out I’m hotly pro-life and, since it’s Sunday, and I know there are a lot of sincere religious folk out there who are indifferent to the subject or, for some reason…anti. Here’s my take:

It all comes down to the life in the womb. The Black Robed priests in DC say… “not”. Therefore, dispose of at will. But, how does God view this nine-month inconvenience? Just a few scriptures: In Genesis 25:22 Rebekah was pregnant and something unusual was happening. Here’s how it reads: “But the children struggled within her.” Well, she asked God about it and He proceeded to tell her that two distinct peoples would come from these twins. Now, in Psalm 127:3 it reads, “Behold, children are a gift of the Lord; The fruit of the womb is a reward.” Here’s what I want you to notice; the word “children” in both verses (in womb, out of womb) is the same in the Hebrew. In other words, God doesn’t make a distinction.

Here’s some New Testament. Remember the whole Christmas story? Well, Mary’s cousin, Elizabeth, was pregnant when Mary (also with child) showed up. Here’s what the older lady said when the younger came into the room, “For behold, when the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby leaped in my womb for joy.”(Luke 1:44) Later, in the next chapter, we read about the angel’s message to the shepherds. He said, “And this will be a sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths, and lying in a manger.” (Luke 2:12) Again, the word for baby (Greek this time) is the same. No difference in God’s eyes.

You see, to God, children are a “reward,” not a curse. In fact, in Jeremiah 1 he told the prophet, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” Did you get that? God himself “forms” the child in the womb and has a plan for that child’s life!

It’s about time to head out to the “job.” But think about it…if each abortion is really the murder of one of God’s children…shouldn’t that, at least to Christians, be a concern?
