Are you nuts?!!!

Are you nuts?!!!
(by R.P.Edwards)

Mess with Turkey
Mess with Spain
Mess with Thailand and Ukraine
Mess with Norway
Denmark too!
Japan and China
These will do
Mess with Germany
That's just fine
Mess with Russia
Anytime!
Canada, Sweden
Make the list
Great Britain, France
Well, I insist!
Mess with Iran
Korea, North
Don't be afraid
Get up!
Go Forth!
Yes, mess with countries
Far and near
Just mess away
And have no fear!
Every continent!
Every race!
Get in their business!
Get in their face!
Yes, mess with gusto!
Grit and guts!
But mess with Israel?!
YOU MUST BE NUTS!!!

Washington will "re-assess," its options concerning Israel and the UN, following the victory of Benjamin Netanyahu in the recent elections.

What exactly does that mean? I get that the Obama administration isn't too pleased with the outcome of said elections, but what does this UN threat flesh out as? NOT voting against one of the numerous resolutions that decry Israeli positions? Voting YES when a resolution appears to recognize the Palestinian state? Removing what little cover the US affords at the "what good is it?" UN headquarters that overlooks the East River?

As the president and his followers barrel ahead with a suspect "deal" with the "not to be trusted" Iranians, the "rift" that this administration has created and broadened with our staunchest middle east ally grows bigger still. As a supporter of Abraham's offspring I am more than appalled and, if the "elected" powers that be in THIS country continue down this disrespectful and DANGEROUS path; perhaps the relief longed for in the 2016 election needs to be hurried. Perhaps "impeachment" is an option after all.

Another Selma needed

Selma sight
(by R.P.Edwards)

Selma sight
Is needed now
For clarity
And cure
To shock the righteous
Full awake
For actions
Strong
And pure
For murder mingles
In our midst
While Christians choose
To sleep
And mercy's measure
Nears its end
When justice says,
"Now reap!"

At the time of "Bloody Sunday," (a summary) I was a prepubescent white child, living in the north. We didn't have a 24 hour news cycle and, even if we did, I didn't like the news. Sure, there were some black folk around, but I had no idea what kind of hardships others of this race were undergoing in the south.

Well, the other day I somehow became aware of Selma. I suppose it was because of the 50th anniversary; the anniversary of peaceful protestors that were beaten because they thought that "all" men were indeed created equal.

Anyway, I wasn't looking for it, but as I channel surfed I happened across a response by Rev Alveda King (niece to Martin Luther King Jr) to the interviewer's question as to her thoughts concerning President Obama's Selma speech and how things have changed since the actual event 50 years ago. I jotted them down:

...I also heard what the president did not say. Of course many things have changed and we can admit that and we're glad that some things have changed. I'm so delighted that we can all vote; this is America and I urge everyone to get out and vote. However, what the president did not say; there's a whole group of people--over 55 million--who have been denied the right to vote because they've been denied the right to live; the little babies in the womb. Legally, what has changed in the last fifty years; 55 million babies have legally lost their lives by abortion, and denied the right to vote, and yet the largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, is getting 2 million dollars from our tax dollars every day. That's one thing that has changed...However, I believe that its very important for the young people to know, and I'm not going to play the race card; I'm going to play the "In God we Trust" card; I'm going to play the "one nation under God" card; and say, young people, you have a right to life. You have a right to liberty. You have a right to the pursuit of happiness. The doors of opportunities are open. We must vote to ensure that every American, born or unborn, can come through those doors. So, some things have changed. Some things have not...

My thoughts: I watched the president's speech. As usual, it was very well done (a gifted speaker), but, sadly, as is often the case he interwove his extra-biblical views into the oration while, at the same time, seasoning with scripture as if to validate. Shameful. And, to those whose acquaintance with "thus saith the Lord" is superficial, the blasphemous irony is lost; as will our Republic be if a course correction is not soon coming.

Concerning Reverend King's remarks; I have nothing but praise and, on behalf of the multiplied millions whose sacrifice was and is the natural consequence of the pseudo-religion of the Elite. I say to her, "Thank you for giving us a voice."

And concerning the opening poem; Congressman Lewis, in a recent interview, noted that Selma (the pictures of, rather) woke the American people up.  Another Selma awakening, in the area of the plight of the unborn...is needed now.

Purim redo?

Same result
(by R.P.Edwards)

Don't need no Aryan
master race
Don't need no Hitler
mustached face
Don't need no German
industrial might
Don't need no shock troops
to lead the fight
Don't need no SS
evil ways
Don't need to murder
a thousand days
Don't need so long
for millions gone
Just need some time
to build that bomb

For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father's house will perish. And, who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?
(Esther 4:14)

Saw the speech given by Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, to Congress yesterday. Grave, sobering, historic. He laid out, in easily digestible chunks, one of the truths of our time: Iran is currently run by not-to-be trusted Jew-haters, and their OBVIOUS ambition is to build nukes...and use them.  And we Americans, in our far away delusion, seem to have trouble adding 2 + 2. In times past our naivety led to an initial bloody nose and knockdown, and then an eventual rising and steeling for the task. However, with nukes on the table, an initial "knockdown" could possibly be a "knockout."

The speech and its rippling aftershocks are currently being analyzed ad nauseam, but a small segment of what the statesman said caught my added attention. He mentioned that on the morrow (today) the Jewish holiday of Purim would be celebrated; a memorial commemorating the saving of the Jewish people from a Persian hater through the intercession and efforts of Queen Esther. If you don't have a Bible handy, here's a safe link. Doesn't take long to read (Esther).

Anyway--since I think along these lines--I mentioned to one of my sons that, in the grand scheme of things, God doesn't need America. Yes, I love my country. And yes, I want the Almighty's blessing on this land, but...BUT, we have strayed much in recent years and, to expect his continual blessing in light of this...is unwise. AND, if we choose to abandon the seed of Abraham and, by our inaction, aid its enemies; well, this is tantamount to suicide.

To conclude, as the above scripture alludes; I have no doubt that Israel will survive the current crisis with, or without American aid. However, given our deserving-of-judgement apostasy, perhaps doing the right thing for Israel...will buy us a little more time. I'm praying in that direction.

By-the-way: it turns out that today is also a memorial of Lincoln's second inaugural address. Unlike Mr. Netanyahu's, this speech speaks of the "already happened" horrific consequence of not dealing with an issue (slavery) earlier. Perhaps a little reflection here...will help us avoid yet another horrible mistake. Here's a link:  Lincoln's 2nd inaugural address

The Preview

 Got a minute?
(by R.P.Edwards)

I beg your pardon
I mean to live
So could you please
One minute give?
Put down your phone
And cease to chew
The words you hear
Might just save...you.

American Israel Public Affairs Committee..AIPAC. Never heard of it...until today.

I had just returned with my numb-mouthed child (dentist appointment) when I saw on the turned-on telly, Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime minster of Israel, addressing the audience of said committee. Now, I knew of the looming address to Congress, but this was a welcome preview. Following is a tiny excerpt:

I've been Prime Minister of Israel for nine years. There's not a single day; not one day that I didn't think about the survival of my country and the actions that I take to ensure that survival; not one day.

I turned to my encouched son and said, "This is part of your school today," and then he and I watched...and listened.

Yes, the world is a dangerous place. Iran, a nation known for terrorist outreaches and the rhetoric of hate is on the verge of building the bomb. Supposedly "we're" negotiating some sort of "slow down cowboy" agreement with the Iranians, but Mr. Netanyahu has been invited to give a perspective born of a people who have sacrificed so much in their fight for survival. A perspective we complacent Americans need to hear.

I've heard some Democrats may boycott the speech because there was an "offense" at the scheduling. How foolish. The lit match is literally next to the powder-keg and some may stay home over hurt feelings? If they do I hope every voter of conscience takes note and removes these from their seats.

As I said, the speech is tomorrow, and I look forward to hearing it.
